Burmester Vintage Port 1960 – Extra Selected A rare and beautifully preserved mature Vintage Port from the historic house of J.W. Burmester, produced from the 1960 harvest and bottled in March 1962. Marked “Extra Selected” on the original period label, this bottle represents an increasingly scarce example of old-school Portuguese Vintage Port. After more than six decades of bottle ageing, the 1960 Burmester is fully mature, with the potential to display the complex tertiary character associated with traditionally aged Vintage Port — dried fruits, cacao, coffee, caramel, spice and evolved oxidative nuances. This example is particularly attractive for collectors, retaining its original Burmester presentation carton, period label, capsule and numbered Portuguese guarantee seal. A fascinating piece of Port wine history from one of Porto’s historic houses, now over 65 years from the vintage.
