Krug Vintage 2006 “Capricious Indulgence” – Brut Champagne An exceptional vintage release from one of Champagne’s most prestigious houses, Krug Vintage 2006 captures the extraordinary character of a warm, contrasting growing season through the unmistakable precision and complexity of the House of Krug. Rather than producing a vintage every year, Krug declares a Vintage only when a particular harvest tells a story the House considers worthy of preserving. The 2006 edition was named “Capricious Indulgence,” reflecting a year of dramatic climatic contrasts that ultimately produced remarkably generous and expressive wines. Created from the classic Champagne varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier, the wine underwent extended ageing in Krug’s cellars, developing remarkable depth and aromatic complexity. Expect layers of ripe and dried fruit, citrus, toasted nuts, pastry, nougat and delicate spice, accompanied by Krug’s characteristic freshness and exceptionally persistent finish. The 2006 vintage has received major critical recognition, including 97 points from Wine Spectator, reinforcing its status as one of the important collectible Krug releases of the modern era. Presented here in 75cl format, this is both a magnificent Champagne to drink and a highly desirable bottle for collectors of prestige cuvée Champagne.

Raised in Portugal and educated in the United States, André has spent two decades moving between cultures, languages and cellars. His passion for fine wine and spirits began with the great Ports and table wines of his home country and grew into a wider fascination with the craft, history and provenance behind every great bottle. When he isn’t tasting or sourcing, he can be found driving the back roads of Europe in search of small producers and the stories behind their labels.
