Quinta do Vale Meão 2011 – Douro DOC – 97 Points – 75cl Bottles bio Quinta do Vale Meão 2011 is one of the outstanding modern vintages from one of the Douro Valley’s most prestigious estates. Produced from a rigorous selection of grapes from the estate’s oldest vineyards, this flagship Douro red combines predominantly Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, complemented by traditional Douro varieties. The wine was traditionally worked in granite lagares and matured in French oak. The 2011 vintage achieved exceptional international recognition, receiving 97/100 Wine Spectator, 97/100 James Suckling and 96/100 Wine Advocate. Wine Spectator placed the wine #4 in its Top 100 Wines of 2014, reinforcing the vintage’s status among collectors. A powerful yet elegant Douro with concentrated dark fruit, mineral character, spice and a long, structured finish. At more than a decade old, bottles with good provenance are increasingly attractive to collectors of top Portuguese wines.

André Bicho
Raised in Portugal and educated in the United States, André has spent two decades moving between cultures, languages and cellars. His passion for fine wine and spirits began with the great Ports and table wines of his home country and grew into a wider fascination with the craft, history and provenance behind every great bottle. When he isn’t tasting or sourcing, he can be found driving the back roads of Europe in search of small producers and the stories behind their labels.
