One of the benchmark great wines of the Douro, Quinta do Vale Meão is produced at the historic estate created by the legendary Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira in the Douro Superior and today remains in the Olazabal family. The 2022 is a powerful yet remarkably elegant expression of the estate, built principally around Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, complemented by traditional Douro varieties. The grapes are vinified separately, including traditional foot-treading in granite lagares, before maturation in French oak barrels. Deep and concentrated, with layers of dark and red fruit, floral notes, spice and beautifully integrated oak. The palate combines intensity with freshness, fine tannins and an exceptionally long, refined finish. The vintage received an outstanding 98 points from Wine Enthusiast.
