Tinto Red Premium Gin is an artisanal Portuguese gin produced in Valença, in Portugal’s Minho region, by Decanter Primeiras Marcas. Marketed as the “first red gin in the world,” Tinto distinguishes itself through its naturally distinctive colour and an unusually broad selection of regional botanicals. The recipe incorporates around 15 ingredients, including juniper, dill, bay leaf, elderflower, lemon balm, eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender, green-orange peel, poppy, wild blackberry and perico, a fruit traditionally associated with the Valença area. The botanicals create a fruity, aromatic and herbaceous profile, with citrus freshness, berry character and Mediterranean herbal notes. The producer’s bottle text also describes the spirit as undergoing three distillations. Presented in a distinctive apothecary-style glass bottle with natural cork closure and botanical decoration.
