A fascinating vintage bottle of Solar Brandy, produced by the historic Caves Solar das Francesas in Anadia, at the heart of Portugal’s Bairrada region. Founded in 1905, Caves Solar das Francesas became an established Portuguese wine and spirits producer and enjoyed particular prominence during the middle decades of the 20th century. This old Solar Brandy survives in its distinctive original presentation, featuring the period cream-and-gold label, five-star Solar branding and historic Caves Solar das Francesas identification. The bottle contains an impressive 1 litre and displays a deep amber colour characteristic of matured wine spirit. An unusual survivor from an important period in Portuguese drinks history, particularly appealing to collectors of vintage Portuguese spirits, historic Bairrada producers and old bar bottles.
