Quinta do Vale Meão 2022 – 98 Points Wine Enthusiast – Douro DOC – 75cl

Quinta do Vale Meão 2022 is the flagship red from one of the Douro’s most historic estates, originating from the property established in the late 19th century by the legendary Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira — “Ferreirinha.” Produced from a rigorous selection of the estate’s finest parcels in the Douro Superior, the 2022 combines 60% Touriga Nacional, 30% Touriga Franca, 5% Tinta Roriz and 5% Tinta Barroca. The vintage was produced in extremely limited quantities, with only 10,000 bottles made. The wine matured in 225-litre French oak barrels, approximately 45% of them new. The 2022 has received major international critical recognition, including 98/100 from Wine Enthusiast, 95/100 from Wine Advocate and 94/100 from Wine Spectator. Wine Enthusiast highlights its rich tannic structure and youthful black-fruit character, while Wine Spectator describes a mineral-driven wine combining blackberry, olive, graphite, violet, thyme and pepper, supported by fine-grained tannins and significant ageing potential.
