Barros Colheita 1957 – Bottled 1987 – 30 Years in Cask – Historic Bottling

A magnificent old-school Barros Colheita, harvested in 1957 and bottled only in 1987 after approximately three decades of maturation in cask. Barros is one of the historic names of Vila Nova de Gaia and has developed a particularly strong reputation for long-aged Colheita Ports. Founded in 1913, the house became especially associated with this traditional style of single-harvest, wood-aged Port. This bottle represents the 1957 harvest and, crucially, the original rear label confirms “Engarrafado em 1987” — bottled in 1987. It therefore spent approximately 30 years ageing in wood before being transferred to bottle. The presentation is particularly attractive for collectors. It retains the classic embossed “BARROS PORT” glass, traditional white stencilling reading “PORTO BARROS COLHEITA 1957”, original Barros capsule and the historic Instituto do Vinho do Porto guarantee seal No. 238680.
