2× Cartuxa Tinto Colheita 2022 – DOC Alentejo-Évora – 750 ml

A two-bottle lot of Cartuxa Tinto Colheita 2022, one of the classic red wines of the Alentejo, produced by Fundação Eugénio de Almeida at Adega Cartuxa in Évora. First produced in 1986, Cartuxa takes its name from the Carthusian monks who have been associated with the Monastery of Cartuxa in Évora since the 16th century. The 2022 is produced from Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira and Aragonez, sourced from the Fundação Eugénio de Almeida vineyards planted on granitic and schist soils. Following fermentation and extended post-fermentation maceration, the wine matured for 12 months in French oak barrels and vats, followed by 24 months in bottle in the cellars of the Cartuxa Monastery. It is a structured and classically styled Alentejo red, combining ripe fruit, complexity and excellent balance.
