Quinta do Vallado Touriga Nacional 2005 – Magnum 1.5L – Douro DOC A mature, large-format expression of one of Portugal’s signature grape varieties from historic Quinta do Vallado, one of the Douro’s renowned estates. Produced entirely from 100% Touriga Nacional, the 2005 combines the variety’s characteristic violet and ripe red-fruit aromatics with balsamic notes from French oak. The wine was aged for approximately 16 months in 225-litre French oak barrels, developing concentration, structure and a long, fresh finish. The vintage received excellent contemporary critical recognition: 92 points from Wine Spectator and 94 points from Wine & Spirits. This example is particularly collectible because it is presented in the 1.5-litre Magnum format and now has more than 20 years of bottle age.
