An impressive and increasingly scarce bottle of Kopke Vintage Port 1960, produced by one of the oldest Port houses in existence. The bottle presents in the traditional historic style, with the wine identified directly on the glass through large original-style stencil lettering reading “Kopke Vintage 1960 Port.” It retains its aged closure and a surviving individually numbered Instituto do Vinho do Porto guarantee seal, an important element of its original presentation. The 1960 vintage was declared by Kopke and is documented among the Vintage Ports produced from that harvest. After more than six decades of bottle maturation, surviving examples are now fully mature. Specialist tastings of Kopke 1960 describe a mature, complex Port with notes including burnt sugar and crème caramel, together with good balance and a lingering finish. The bottle shows substantial age and patina consistent with long-term cellaring. The stencilled presentation is particularly appealing for collectors of historic Port bottles.
