An exceptional Portuguese old wine brandy from the historic Palácio da Brejoeira, one of the emblematic estates of Monção and the Alvarinho region. This Aguardente Velha is produced from a rigorous selection of 100% Alvarinho wine, which is distilled and then matured for an impressive 10 to 12 years in French oak barrels from Angoulême and Limousin. The barrels rest at constant temperature in the old cellar of the Palácio da Brejoeira. Following the long maturation, individual barrels are blended, the spirit is filtered and bottled, and it subsequently spends additional time resting in the estate’s cellars before release. Traditionally, bottles are labelled manually according to the estate’s long-established practice. Amber in colour, it is characterized by delicate aromas and a remarkably smooth, velvety palate, combining the distinctive personality of Alvarinho with the complexity acquired through prolonged French-oak ageing.
