A desirable earlier presentation of The Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak, bottled at the higher 43% ABV in 750ml format for the US market and accompanied by its original presentation carton. Matured exclusively in carefully selected sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, Spain, the 12 Year Old Sherry Oak represents the traditional style upon which The Macallan built much of its reputation: rich dried fruit, ginger, oak spice and mature sherry character. This example predates The Macallan’s 2018 redesign and retains the distinctive earlier bottle presentation, including the triangular 12 Year Old shoulder emblem, gold patterned capsule and black textured carton. Specialist whisky auctions specifically catalogue this 750ml/43% presentation as a pre-2018 bottling. Bottled at 43% ABV, rather than the 40% commonly encountered in European releases, and presented with its original carton, it has additional appeal for Macallan collectors as well as drinkers looking for the older Sherry Oak presentation.
