BLUECOAT AMERICAN DRY GIN – ORIGINAL PRE-2021 PRESENTATION – 750 ML – 47% ABV

An attractive older presentation of Bluecoat American Dry Gin from Philadelphia Distilling, presented in the producer’s distinctive deep cobalt-blue glass bottle. Launched in Philadelphia in 2006, Bluecoat helped establish a distinctly American interpretation of premium dry gin. Rather than following the traditional heavily juniper-driven London Dry profile, Bluecoat became known for combining juniper with pronounced American citrus character, coriander, angelica root and other botanicals. Distilled from grain and produced using a custom copper pot still, this is bottled at a substantial 47% ABV (94 Proof), giving the spirit considerably more structure and intensity than many standard commercial gins. Of particular interest to collectors, this bottle carries Bluecoat’s original presentation, preceding the major packaging redesign introduced in 2021. The striking cobalt-blue bottle features the historic gold-script Bluecoat branding, revolutionary-era horsemen emblem and the original Philadelphia Distilling back inscription. This example is the desirable US 750 ml format rather than the 700 ml bottle more commonly encountered in Europe.
