A true icon of the Douro, Reserva Especial is produced only in exceptional years and represents the pinnacle of Casa Ferreirinha’s winemaking outside of Barca Velha. Created over 50 years ago, only 16 vintages had been declared by the release of the 2007, making it one of Portugal’s rarest collectible wines. The 2007 vintage is deep, powerful, and elegant, offering aromas of ripe black plum, cedar, tobacco, cinnamon, and clove, supported by firm tannins, vibrant acidity, and an exceptionally long finish. Built for decades of cellaring, it is regarded as one of the finest modern Portuguese reds.
