Cobalto-17 is a Portuguese premium gin produced by Cobalto Douro in the Douro region. The producer describes it as the first gin produced entirely in the Douro, combining traditional distillation with manual bottling. The bottle itself lists a distinctive set of six botanicals: juniper, peppermint, lemon verbena, cardamom, pear and Tinta Amarela grapes. This combination gives Cobalto-17 a character that moves beyond a conventional London Dry style, with pronounced fruit, herbal freshness and spice while retaining juniper at its core. The Douro identity is central to the presentation: the name and cobalt-blue imagery reference Portuguese azulejos, the Douro’s traditional rabelo boats and the cultural landscape of the region. Cobalto-17 has also received international recognition, including a Bronze Medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition.
