A rare, individually numbered limited-edition Douro red created as a tribute to Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, one of the most important figures in the history of the Douro and the woman whose legacy became inseparable from Casa Ferreirinha. The Antónia Adelaide Ferreira tribute wine originated in 2011, marking the 200th anniversary of Dona Antónia’s birth. Each edition celebrates her vision, determination and extraordinary contribution to the Douro. The 2020 vintage was restricted to just 4,346 bottles worldwide, with this example individually numbered 0643/4346. Produced from selected Douro vineyards, the wine brings together fruit from Cima Corgo and Douro Superior, two terroirs particularly associated with Dona Antónia’s vision of the region. Sogrape describes the 2020 as combining ripe red fruit with pepper and clove, balsamic and truffle notes, subtle minerality and discreet, integrated oak. On the palate it is full-bodied and complex, with firm tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, harmonious finish. A highly collectible, extremely small-production expression of the Douro and an especially appropriate bottle for collectors of Casa Ferreirinha, Barca Velha and premium Portuguese wines.
