A mature and increasingly difficult-to-find Garrafeira release from Herdade dos Coelheiros, one of the established names of the Alentejo. The 1999 Garrafeira is a blend of Aragonês and Cabernet Sauvignon, produced at Herdade dos Coelheiros in Arraiolos. The Garrafeira designation identifies the estate’s extended-ageing selection, conceived for long cellar development. Wine Enthusiast reviewed the 1999 Garrafeira at 90 points, describing it at release as a powerful, concentrated and deeply structured wine. Your bottle presents very nicely for its age: the capsule appears intact, the front label shows only modest age-related wear, and the wine level looks high from this photograph.
