An iconic Portuguese red with a history stretching back to the early 20th century, Buçaco Tinto Reservado 2018 continues the celebrated wine tradition of the legendary Palace Hotel do Bussaco. The wine brings together two of Portugal’s great red varieties and regions: Baga from Bairrada and Touriga Nacional from Dão/Bairrada. This historic cross-regional approach gives Buçaco its distinctive character—the structure, freshness and longevity of Baga combined with the perfume and elegance of Touriga Nacional. The 2018 shows ripe dark and red fruit, floral and spicy notes, firm yet refined tannins and pronounced freshness, with a persistent, complex finish. Buçaco wines have traditionally been produced with ageing in mind and are particularly noted for their ability to develop over many years in bottle.
