Forager’s Keep was distilled at Pittyvaich, the short-lived Speyside distillery established in 1975 and closed permanently in 1993. With production spanning only around 18 years, Pittyvaich has become an increasingly scarce name in mature Scotch whisky. Remarkably, this whisky spent 26 years maturing — considerably longer than the distillery itself operated. Released by Orphan Barrel Whiskey Co., Forager’s Keep holds another distinction: it was the first Single Malt Scotch released under the Orphan Barrel label. Bottled at a substantial 48% ABV, it offers aromas of crisp red apple and ripe fruit followed by vanilla, orange peel, warming wood spice and a long, sweet finish. A genuine closed-distillery collector’s whisky combining significant age, limited availability and the increasingly rare provenance of Pittyvaich.
