Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino 2022 One of Argentina’s most iconic expressions of Malbec, Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino 2022 represents the Catena family’s pioneering work with high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza and their role in elevating Argentine Malbec to international prestige. Produced from carefully selected old-vine Malbec, the 2022 combines remarkable concentration with freshness and elegance. Expect layers of ripe blackberry, blueberry and plum alongside violet, spice, dark chocolate and mineral nuances, supported by polished tannins and a long, structured finish. The spectacular label, “The Epic Tale of Malbec,” tells the history of the grape through a series of symbolic female figures—from its European origins and the devastation of phylloxera to immigration and Malbec’s rebirth in Argentina. This bottle retains its distinctive “Ten Centuries of Life, Death and Rebirth” hanging booklet, making for particularly striking presentation.
