A mature bottle of Guadelim Reserva 2009, produced at Herdade do Pico in Granja-Amareleja, one of the warmest and most distinctive wine-growing areas of the Alentejo. The 2009 Reserva is a traditional regional blend of Aragonez, Alfrocheiro, Alicante Bouschet, Tinta Caiada and Moreto. The producer describes a concentrated yet smooth wine, while current merchant notes highlight rockrose, mature red fruit, dark chocolate and lightly smoky notes, supported by good structure and freshness. The bottle is now approximately 17 years from vintage, giving the lot additional interest for buyers looking for mature Portuguese wines from less commonly encountered Alentejo subregions.
