Cacimba Original – O Gin de Sintra is a distinctive Portuguese London Dry Gin inspired by the landscape, climate and botanical richness of the Serra de Sintra. The name Cacimba refers to the fine drizzle associated with Sintra’s famously humid, misty microclimate — the environment that inspired the creation of the gin. The producers describe it as the first gin from Sintra. Distilled in a copper still, Cacimba draws its character from a selection of botanicals associated with the region. Key ingredients include juniper, Reineta apple from Colares, eucalyptus, bay leaf, orange and lemon, creating a distinctly Portuguese interpretation of London Dry Gin. The aromatic profile is particularly marked by eucalyptus and bay leaf, accompanied by fresh citrus notes dominated by orange peel. The Reineta apple adds another local connection to the Colares area. The bottle itself celebrates the Serra de Sintra, making Cacimba not simply a Portuguese gin but a spirit strongly connected to its place of origin.
