Cockburn’s Reserva Tawny Port – Historic Bottling – 75cl

A fascinating historic bottling from one of the great names of the Douro, this Cockburn’s Reserva Tawny represents an earlier era of Port production and presentation. Produced by Cockburn Smithes & Cia. in Vila Nova de Gaia, the wine is described on its original label as a sweet Tawny Port subjected to prolonged ageing and drawn from a very limited reserve. The bottle retains its wonderfully aged presentation, including the original Instituto do Vinho do Porto guarantee strip and numbered seal 279339. Its traditional squat bottle, old typography and decades of natural cellar patina give it considerable visual character. Cockburn’s was founded in 1815 and developed into one of the historic houses of Port, earning a particularly strong reputation for its wines during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
