Quinta do Vale Meão 2017 is a highly acclaimed vintage of one of the Douro’s great flagship wines, awarded a perfect 100 points by Wine Enthusiast, together with 96 points from Wine Spectator and 95 points from Wine Advocate. Produced at the historic Quinta do Vale Meão estate, founded from land acquired by the legendary Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira in 1877, the wine represents the pinnacle of the estate’s production. The 2017 blend comprises 55% Touriga Nacional, 40% Touriga Franca, 3% Tinta Barroca and 2% Tinta Roriz, combining the concentration and structure of the Douro Superior with remarkable freshness and elegance. Deeply coloured and complex, the wine offers layers of dark and red fruit, floral notes, spice, minerality and beautifully integrated French oak. The palate is powerful yet refined, with structured tannins, vibrant acidity and an exceptionally long finish. A superb cellar-worthy Portuguese red from an outstanding vintage, and an increasingly desirable bottle for collectors of top Douro wines.
