A mature and increasingly difficult-to-find red from Trás-os-Montes, produced by Mário Romano Cunha in Vilar de Ouro, Mirandela. The 2013 vintage combines three emblematic Portuguese varieties — Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional — followed by eight months of barrel ageing. Now with more than a decade of bottle age, the wine combines ripe red and forest fruits with darker, more evolved nuances. The producer describes notes of dark chocolate, balsamic freshness and mint, leading to a long, smooth finish. Current tasting descriptions also note cherry, subtle development and leather, with a full-bodied, dry palate and well-integrated oak.
