Cask-aged expression from Martin Miller's, the brand launched in 1999 that is widely credited with opening the modern premium gin category. The Solera Reserve differs from the original 9 Moons — where that one rested in American bourbon barrels, this bottling spent its nine moons in a French oak solera cask at the brand's barrel store in Borgarnes, Iceland, where the cold, dry climate slows maturation. Blending is scheduled to the new moon cycle, and the replenishing solera method keeps the profile consistent batch to batch. Distilled in England, blended and bottled with Icelandic spring water. House notes: toasted French oak giving rich berry sweetness with creamy vanilla and coconut, citrus balanced by the softness of the Icelandic water. Retailer tasting notes add oak spice, chocolate orange and peppery juniper into caramel and baking spice.
