Ghosts of The Ocean Botanical Dry Gin is a premium small-batch gin created and produced on the island of São Miguel in the Azores, combining the botanical character of the archipelago with a strong commitment to marine conservation. Created by Ali Bullock, founder of The Gin Library at Solar Branco Eco Estate, Ghosts of The Ocean was developed in partnership with the Ocean Gin Company. The project has a dual purpose: showcasing the Azores through premium spirits while contributing to the protection of the ocean and marine life surrounding the islands. The Botanical edition is deliberately lighter and more floral, with softer juniper character. Its profile incorporates botanicals including lemongrass and cardamom, producing an approachable, aromatic gin with fresh herbal and citrus characteristics. Across the Ghosts of The Ocean range, botanicals associated with its Azorean-inspired profile include juniper, mint, rosemary, cardamom, lemon, thyme, angelica, coriander seed, lemon myrtle and lime. The distinctive recycled-glass bottle carries marine imagery inspired by creatures found in the waters surrounding the Azores. Sustainability is central to the project: the producer states that a contribution from every bottle sold supports the Ocean Azores Foundation and marine-conservation initiatives. A distinctive Portuguese island gin combining Azorean provenance, artisanal production, marine-inspired design and environmental purpose.
