Produced by Pago de los Capellanes in Pedrosa de Duero, Burgos, this is the estate’s youthful expression of Ribera del Duero, based on Tempranillo (Tinto Fino). The back label confirms that the 2022 was harvested from 27 September 2022 and matured for a minimum of three months in French oak barrels. The relatively short maturation is designed to preserve the freshness and intensity of the fruit while adding structure and subtle oak character. It is a generous, fruit-driven Ribera del Duero, typically showing ripe blackberry and cherry, floral nuances, liquorice and gentle toasted/spicy notes. The palate combines ripe fruit with fresh acidity and polished tannins, making it considerably more approachable in its youth than the estate’s longer-aged Crianza, Reserva and single-vineyard wines.
