Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2008 – Original Wooden Presentation Case An outstanding Vintage Port from one of the Douro’s most celebrated estates, Quinta do Noval, presented in its wooden case and with its original numbered IVDP guarantee seal intact. The 2008 vintage is particularly interesting historically. Although 2008 was not a generally declared Vintage Port year, Quinta do Noval selected the exceptional fruit from its own estate and produced a Quinta do Noval Vintage Port. Produced entirely from grapes grown at Quinta do Noval, the fruit was traditionally foot-trodden in the estate’s stone lagares, followed by approximately 18 months of maturation in wooden vats before bottling in 2010. Deep and intensely coloured, the 2008 offers an expressive bouquet of wild flowers, blackberry, blackcurrant and plum, accompanied by spice and considerable aromatic complexity. The palate is concentrated and powerful yet elegant, combining layers of dark fruit with firm, fine tannins and an exceptionally persistent finish. The vintage received strong critical recognition, including 96/100 from Jamie Goode and 94/100 from Wine Spectator.
