Tinto Red Premium Gin 1.5L is an unusual large-format presentation of the distinctive Portuguese gin created by João Guterres in Valença, in Portugal’s Minho region. Immediately recognizable by its extraordinary elongated glass bottle, the 1.5-litre presentation is designed with an exceptionally long graduated neck reminiscent of laboratory and distillation equipment. This example is accompanied by its original tall Tinto Red Premium Gin presentation box. Produced in Valença, Tinto was conceived around the local landscape and botanicals of northern Portugal. The recipe combines juniper with an extensive selection of herbs, flowers, citrus and wild fruit. Retail descriptions identify botanicals including dill, bay, elderflower, lemon balm, lemon verbena, eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender, poppy, wild blackberry and perico, a local fruit associated with the Valença area. The spirit undergoes triple distillation. The result is visually distinctive, with its characteristic red/amber colour and an aromatic profile combining fruit, herbs, spice, citrus and juniper. Tinto Red Premium Gin has also received international recognition: the International Wine & Spirit Competition records a Packaging Gold award in 2017.
